Football Recap: White Pine Comes Up Short on the Road Against Coral Academy of Science - Reno

White Pine kicked off their season on the road on Saturday and hit a couple of potholes. The match between the Bobcats and the Coral Academy of Science - Reno Falcons didn't end well, with the Bobcats falling 25-8. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it ten in a row.

Christopher Hillar threw for 27 yards. Talviano Sifre was his top target, picking up 27 receiving yards. On the ground, Cainen Sedlacek rushed for 42 yards.

Coral Academy of Science - Reno's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Santiago Gonzalez, who rushed for 47 yards and one touchdown, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Gonzalez was even better on defense, picking up a sack and making four total tackles (2.0 for loss) in addition to snagging an interception which he returned one-yard for a touchdown.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. White Pine will challenge Battle Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Coral Academy of Science - Reno, they will take on GV Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
