Softball Game Preview: St. Bonaventure Seraphs vs. Legacy Tigers

The St. Bonaventure Seraphs are taking a road trip to take on the Legacy Tigers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with St. Bonaventure sitting on six straight victories and Legacy on 12.

St. Bonaventure is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Southwest EC 6-5. That's two games straight that the Seraphs have won by just one run.

Jessika Soliz looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in 16 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Audrina Tinoco was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Azaria Aguilar, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one double.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Tuesday. Legacy had just enough and edged out Elsinore 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Legacy has posted since March 12th.

Savannah Medina spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Isabella Medina, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. Natalie Gonzalez was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Legacy's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 25-7. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for St. Bonaventure, their record is now 19-11.
