Basketball Recap: Bakersfield Comes Up Short

After flying high against Dora last Thursday, Bakersfield came back down to earth. The Bakersfield Lions came up short against the Alton Comets on Saturday, falling 55-32. The Lions haven't had much luck with the Comets recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.

Bakersfield's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-5. As for Alton, the victory snapped their losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 2-5 record.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bakersfield will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mansfield at 5:30 p.m. on February 11th. Alton will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against East Carter at 6:00 p.m. on February 17th.
