Families Instructing Students HomeSchool extended the longest winning streak in Florida Christian III (6 Man) this week by beating City of Life Christian Academy, 26-18. The victory was the fifth in a row for the team.
Hillsborough Baptist was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. The Lions beat Hernando Christian Academy 43-18 earlier in the week.
John Catlin's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jacob Couch threw for 77 and one touchdown and Tim Warren had 42 yards receiving. On the ground Warren chipped in 189 yards. Grant Sims helped Families Instructing Students HomeSchool's passing attack out by catching two balls for 35 yards.
Caleb Nowinski made the biggest impact on defense this week as Families Instructing Students HomeSchool bested the Warriors. The defensive lineman forced two fumbles and grabbed one sack.
Thanks to the talents of Couch and Warren Families Instructing Students HomeSchool has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Couch leads the league in passing with 307 yards, while Warren has rushed for 810 yards this season. Geneva Classical Academy's Ethan Whitehurst leads the league in receiving yards with 159 on six catches.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between the Knights and Clearwater Academy International. Geneva Classical Academy enters the game ranked 16th in the state, while the Knights ranks first.
Eastland Christian took down Solid Rock Community 52-24 last week, the largest margin of any game.
