Athens Drive extended their losing streak to eight on Wednesday, dropping their season record down to 3-16 in the process. They lost 13-5 to the Broughton Capitals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Capitals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 on Monday.

Cora Driscoll was cooking despite her team's loss, going 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Ayla Cole, who went 4-for-5 with four RBI and one run.

As for Broughton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-8. Considering they have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

On Broughton's side, Bailey Bishop was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Bishop is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Harper Smith was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one double.
