Preview: Wyndmere/Lidgerwood Warbirds vs. Richland Colts
The Wyndmere/Lidgerwood Warbirds will head out on the road to challenge the Richland Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.
Last Friday, Wyndmere/Lidgerwood ended up a good deal behind Hankinson and lost 66-51. While losing is never fun, Wyndmere/Lidgerwood can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Dakota basketball rankings (they are ranked 79th, while Hankinson is ranked 13th).
Meanwhile, Richland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their fifth straight loss. They fell 57-50 to Northern Cass.
Richland might have lost, but man, Casyn Syvertsen was a machine: he scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Syvertsen has scored all season. Nick Wulfekuhle was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with two steals.
Wyndmere/Lidgerwood's loss dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Richland, their loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-8.
Wyndmere/Lidgerwood took a serious blow against Richland in their previous matchup back in February of 2022, falling 80-53. Can Wyndmere/Lidgerwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
