Homedale faced Cole Valley Christian in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Trojans walked away with an 8-5 win over the Chargers. This was a revenge game for the Trojans: when they faced off against the Chargers on April 2nd, they had to take a 13-6 loss.

Mason Taylor spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered five earned runs on five hits.

At the plate, Lukas Hall was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Chance Martell, who got on base in two of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

Homedale is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-6 record this season. As for Cole Valley Christian, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 21-4.

Looking ahead, Homedale will head out to challenge Fruitland at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Grizzlies will roll in looking for their 22nd straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight. Cole Valley Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
