Softball Recap: Cambria Heights Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cambria Heights entered their tilt with Northern Cambria on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Colts 12-2. For the Highlanders, this counts as revenge for the 11-10 victory the Colts walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Rylee Lane looked comfortable as she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lakin Pierce, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brea Kountz, who scored a run while going 4-for-4.

Cambria Heights hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive matchups.

Cambria Heights pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.3 runs over those games. As for Northern Cambria, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Cambria Heights will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Colts: the pair will be back at it again later today.
