Baseball Recap: Rossford Comes Up Short

Rossford was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-2 to the Oak Harbor Rockets. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Rockets from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Rossford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Yerkes, who scored a run while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Owen Swonger also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.

Rossford's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Oak Harbor, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Rossford will challenge rival Maumee at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Oak Harbor is set to take on their familiar foe Eastwood at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Rockets 3.4, the Eagles 2.9) so any runs scored will be well earned.
