Basketball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

It was a proper cat-fight when Salem duked it out with Corydon Central on Friday. The Lions fell 62-51 to the Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Panthers are ranked 80th).

Jack Fessel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Corydon Central, going 9-for-15 on his way to 22 points along with five assists and five rebounds. The contest was Fessel's fourth in a row with at least 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jojo McCarty, who posted eight points and 12 boards.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Corydon Central, their win bumped their record up to 13-3.

Salem has already played their next matchup (against North Harrison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Corydon Central, they will venture away from home to take on Paoli at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
