Preview: Ossining Pride vs. White Plains Tigers

The Ossining Pride will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the White Plains Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Last Saturday, Ossining was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 59-58 to Pearl River. While losing is never fun, Ossining can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 353rd, while Pearl River is ranked 33rd).

Despite the loss, Ossining had strong showings from Kris Singh, who scored 24 points, and Asher Cort, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Franklin Santos, who scored eight points.

Meanwhile, White Plains had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 17.3 points), and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 84-38 victory over Lincoln. White Plains has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 40 points or more this season.

Ossining's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for White Plains, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1.

Ossining ended up a good deal behind White Plains in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, losing 76-59. Can Ossining avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
