Kirby made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Middle College, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Kirby blew past Middle College 12-5 on Monday. Considering the Cougars have won three games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kirby got a massive performance out of Dion Blackmon, who scored three runs and stole six bases. With that strong performance, Blackmon is now averaging an impressive 2.3 stolen bases per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaleb Clark, who scored a run and stole four bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Kirby always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Middle College only posted an OBP of .231.
Kirby's victory bumped their record up to 3-5. As for Middle College, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kirby will challenge Overton at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
