It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Edison ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Horseheads Blue Raiders 5-4. The win was nothing new for Edison as they're now sitting on three straight.
Gabby Milazzo spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive pitching appearances.
On the hitting side, Carissa Cowan was excellent, going 1-for-2 with a home run and a stolen base. Bri Korsky was another key contributor, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
Edison pushed their record up to 17-4 with that victory, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Horseheads, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-7.
