Football Recap: Xavier Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Xavier fell victim to Winneconne and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Wolves and fell 42-0. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin football rankings (they are ranked 156th, while the Wolves are ranked 43rd).

Winneconne's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Schaffer led the charge by rushing for 78 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries, while also throwing for 140 yards and one TD. That's the most rushing touchdowns Schaffer has posted since back in October of 2024. Mason Mathe was another key rusher, rushing for 86 yards and a pair of scores on only seven carries.

Xavier is on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5. As for Winneconne, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
