Soccer Game Preview: Thomas Jefferson vs. Standley Lake

The Thomas Jefferson Spartans will head out to face off against the Standley Lake Gators at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Thomas Jefferson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thomas Jefferson is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Hinkley on Tuesday. Neither the Spartans nor the Thunder could gain the upper hand so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, after soaring to four goals the game before, Standley Lake was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They fell 2-0 to Evergreen. Standley Lake have struggled against Evergreen recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.

With that draw, Thomas Jefferson's record moves to 2-6-1. As for Standley Lake, they now have a losing record of 3-4-2.

Thomas Jefferson beat Standley Lake 5-3 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Spartans since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
