Soccer Recap: American Leadership Academy Takes a Loss

It was a Battle of the Birds when American Leadership Academy faced off against Waterford on Thursday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was Waterford who was credited with the victory. Waterford got it done in the shootout by posting three goals to the American Leadership Academy Eagles' two. American Leadership Academy were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Waterford apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

This is the second loss in a row for American Leadership Academy and nudges their season record down to 5-3. As for Waterford, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. American Leadership Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Providence Hall at 3:30 p.m. on April 8. American Leadership Academy is facing Providence Hall at the right time seeing as Providence Hall is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Waterford, they will square off against Wasatch Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
