Baseball Game Preview: Venture Academy Mustangs vs. Sheldon Huskies

The Venture Academy Mustangs will head out to face off against the Sheldon Huskies at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

West hit Venture Academy with a five-run second inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mustangs came up short against the Wolfpack, falling 12-2. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Tanner Gantt was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Aiden Piper, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, Monday just wasn't the day for Sheldon's offense. They lost 10-0 to El Dorado on Monday.

Sheldon saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavin Workman, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Sheldon's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Venture Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
