Baseball Recap: Oak Grove Classical Academy Has No Trouble Against Rehoboth Christian

The Oak Grove Classical Academy Owls made easy work of the Rehoboth Christian Lynx on Tuesday and carried off a 17-5 win. The Owls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by ten runs or more this season.

Miles Shiver made a splash no matter where he played. He tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run. He is becoming a predictor of Oak Grove Classical Academy's success: when he posts at least three hits the team is undefeated (and 4-7 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Grayson Grebe was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Rush, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Oak Grove Classical Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive games.

Oak Grove Classical Academy is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.9 runs over those games. As for Rehoboth Christian, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Lynx beat Oak Grove Classical Academy by a score of 20-13 later that day.
