Basketball Recap: Athens Bible Comes Up Short

Athens Bible was the 64-57 winner over Elkmont when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Athens Bible Trojans took a 52-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Elkmont Red Devils on Monday. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Elkmont's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ester Marcial, who went 6 of 13 on her way to 17 points. Marcial has been hot recently, having also posted two or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Nyla Parker, who posted seven points in addition to ten rebounds and three steals.

Athens Bible now has a losing record at 10-11. As for Elkmont, their victory bumped their record up to 8-18.

Athens Bible didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 60-23 win against Lindsay Lane Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Elkmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 49-24 victory against Tanner on the 28th.
