East Grand Rapids won the last time they faced Lowell and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Pioneers won by a run and slipped past the Red Arrows 7-6. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Axel Hammerschmidt was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Sean Murray, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one run and one double.

East Grand Rapids' win bumped their record up to 21-7-2. As for Lowell, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 22-11-1 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. East Grand Rapids will challenge Forest Hills Eastern at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hawks will roll in looking for their 24th straight victory, something the Pioneers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lowell, they will take on Forest Hills Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
