Baseball Recap: Cactus Has No Trouble Against Westview

Cactus never let their opponents score on Thursday. Everything went their way against the Westview Knights as they made off with a 10-0 victory. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 5-0 on Tuesday.

William Wagner tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cactus got a big performance out of Phoenix Huisinga, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Huisinga has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Gavin Carlson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and two RBI.

Cactus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .476. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

The win made it two in a row for Cactus and bumps their season record up to 7-15. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.5 runs over those games. As for Westview, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-13.
