Basketball Recap: St. Catherine's Takes a Loss

St. Catherine was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 40-36 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Margaret's Scotties. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Scotties this season, with their most recent loss being a 59-41 defeat back in January.

Paula Carrillo was the offensive standout of the contest as she posted 13 points.

St. Catherine's loss dropped their record down to 6-16. As for St. Margaret's, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season.

St. Catherine's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for St. Margaret's, they will take on Trinity Episcopal on Tuesday. St. Margaret's is on a three-game streak of home wins, Trinity Episcopal a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
