Basketball Recap: Owyhee's Victory on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Jackpot came into Saturday's game looking for another win against Owyhee, but Rolando Espitia wouldn't allow it. The Owyhee Braves came out on top against the Jackpot Jaguars by a score of 47-40 on Saturday thanks in part to Espitia, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Owyhee's points.

When it comes to explaining why Jackpot lost, don't look at Jorge Avila. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 boards. Avila is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Mateo Lopez also deserves some recognition as he scored his first points of the season.

Owyhee has already played their next contest (against Lund), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jackpot will square off against Carlin at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Jackpot is facing Carlin at the right time seeing as Carlin is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
