Basketball Recap: Escalante Takes a Loss

Escalante was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 17th straight defeat. They came up short against the McCurdy Bobcats, falling 47-23. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Bobcats this season, with their most recent loss being a 62-20 defeat on February 6th.

Leading McCurdy to victory were Amy Anaya and Mariana Arambula. Anaya posted 11 points and six steals, while Arambula went 5-for-10 en route to 12 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Anaya a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (43%). Amanda Tafoya was another key player, putting up six points.

Escalante's loss dropped their record down to 1-25. As for McCurdy, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season.

As of now, neither Escalante nor McCurdy have any future games scheduled.
