Basketball Recap: American Leadership Academy Beats North Sevier for Their 12th Straight Victory

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only American Leadership Academy walked away with it. They snuck past the North Sevier Wolves with a 52-48 win on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Eagles sure are getting used to it with their 12th in a row.

Several Wolves players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kade Johnson, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 15 points and five assists. What's more, Johnson also posted a 67% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Brody Bulloch, who posted 12 points.

American Leadership Academy's victory bumped their record up to 21-4. As for North Sevier, they now have a losing record of 12-13.

Coming up, American Leadership Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Kanab at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Kanab knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully American Leadership Academy likes a good challenge. As for North Sevier, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge American Prep WV at 12:50 p.m. on Friday. American Prep WV is coming into the contest with five straight losses at home, meaning North Sevier will have to defend against a team hungry for a win.
