Basketball Recap: Innovation Takes a Loss

Innovation was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost 72-52 to the Lake Nona Lions. While losing is never fun, the Bulls can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 652nd, while the Lions are ranked 284th).

Despite the loss, Innovation saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jadis Santamaria went 5 of 12 on his way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Alejandro Troconis, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Innovation's defeat dropped their record down to 3-21. As for Lake Nona, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-13.

Innovation has already played their next game (against New Smyrna Beach), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Lake Nona has also has no score uploaded for their next contest, this one against Tohopekaliga.
