Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Ian Mckeegan and Niko Saldukas Lead Weatherly to Victory

Weatherly's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They walked away with a 50-43 win over the Shenandoah Valley Blue Devils. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 52-43 back in December of 2024.

Leading Weatherly to victory were Niko Saldukas and Ian Mckeegan. Saldukas went 10 for 18 en route to 26 points in addition to five boards and three steals, while Mckeegan went 7 of 16 on his way to 15 points and seven steals. The game was Mckeegan's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Corbin Wagner, who posted four points along with six assists and three steals.

Weatherly is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Shenandoah Valley, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-12.

Weatherly wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 83-49 defeat against Bethlehem Christian on the 25th. As for Shenandoah Valley, they will square off against Schuylkill Haven at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Schuylkill Haven is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.9 points per game this season.
