The South Bend Career Academy Trailblazers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 43-24 bruising from Granger Christian. South Bend Career Academy lost against Granger Christian in their previous head to head back in October, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 41-25 score last time.
Despite the loss, South Bend Career Academy saw an underclassman step up: Adara Machowiak scored 10 points along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Machowiak scored a full 41.7% of South Bend Career Academy's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Cooper, who scored 4 points along with 5 rebounds.
The last time South Bend Career Academy won on the road was back back in November. Having now lost five straight away contests, they've bumped their record down to 1-8. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 13.4 points per game. As for Granger Christian, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
South Bend Career Academy will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Argos at 6:00 p.m. As for Granger Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Lakeland Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
