Softball Recap: Carrollwood Day Takes a Loss

Carrollwood Day had lost three straight on the road, but on Tuesday they dropped their record down to 5-9 to make it four. They lost 10-0 to the Berkeley Prep Buccaneers. The shutout was out of character for the Patriots seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

As for Berkeley Prep, they moved to 11-9 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. The high-scoring effort was just what they needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

For Berkeley Prep's part, the team relied heavily on Mackenzie Crerand, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Crerand has posted since back in March. Hannah Cronin also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Carrollwood Day does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Berkeley Prep, they will take on Hernando at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
