Baseball Game Preview: Headland Rams vs. Valley Rams

Headland is on a three-game streak of home wins, while Valley is on a ten-game streak of away wins (dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. Headland will host Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Headland 2.6, Valley 2) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Headland had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Slocomb on Thursday. Everything went Headland's way against Slocomb as Headland made off with a 12-2 win. Considering the Rams have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Valley's undefeated season came to an end after ten games on Friday. They fell just short of Eufaula by a score of 3-1. The loss put an end to the Rams' undefeated start to the season.

Valley saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Matthew McDonald, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.

Headland's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Valley, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.
