Fullington Academy and Westwood are an even 4-4 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Fullington Academy Trojans will venture away from home to square off against the Westwood Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Westwood took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Fullington Academy, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Fullington Academy needed a bit of extra time to put away Crisp Academy. They came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 8-3. The win was some much needed relief for the Trojans as it spelled an end to their nine-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Bryson Faulk made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Augie Harris, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Blake Hendrickson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.
Fullington Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Westwood took on Grace Christian Academy on Tuesday. Westwood came up short against Grace Christian Academy, falling 9-2. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Wildcats couldn't push the score so high this time.
Sam Summerlin made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and one triple.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Fullington Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Westwood struggles in that department as they've been averaging 8.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Fullington Academy couldn't quite finish off Westwood in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 12-10. Can Fullington Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
