Basketball Recap: Oliver Springs' Win Ends Three-Game Losing Streak on the Road

It was a proper cat-fight when Oliver Springs took on Rockwood on Saturday. The Oliver Springs Bobcats came out on top against the Rockwood Tigers by a score of 55-45. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Bobcats.

Ethan Jones was his usual excellent self, going 10 of 18 en route to 24 points along with five assists and four steals. Gavin Johnson was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Rockwood's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Collin Abston, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten boards. Those ten rebounds gave Abston a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Laken Jolly, who went 5 for 6 on his way to 14 points.

Oliver Springs' win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8. As for Rockwood, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Oliver Springs wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 87-50 loss against Anderson County on the 20th. Rockwood has also already played their next game, a 42-41 defeat against Sunbright on the 21st.
