Preview: Marshfield vs. Nevada
Marshfield will look to defend their home turf on Friday against Nevada at 7:00 PM. Marshfield have the odds in their favor, so they'll need to guard against complacency.
Their game two weeks ago wasn't at all kind to Marshfield, but their most recent match may have softened the blow. They got past Hollister with less than a touchdown to spare, ending up at 31-26. No one put up better numbers for Marshfield than senior Brock Utecht, who brought his A game into the match. He passed for 190 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, after a big victory against East Newton two weeks ago, Nevada came back down to earth. Nevada found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 20-42 punch to the gut against McDonald County last Friday. Nevada were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-28.
Marshfield's win lifted them to 3-2 while Nevada's loss dropped them down to 1-4. We'll find out if Marshfield can add another positive mark to their record or if Nevada can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Marshfield's step.
