Baseball Recap: McCreary Central Comes Up Short

If McCreary Central was feeling good fresh off their 16-1 takedown of Barbourville on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Raiders took an 11-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Knox Central Panthers on Thursday.

Seth King and Hayden Irvin did some serious damage despite the final result: King went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI, while Irvin went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Greyson Stephens, who went 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

McCreary Central dropped their record down to 15-12 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. As for Knox Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 20 of their last 21 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

McCreary Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Knox Central, they will challenge Clay County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
