Basketball Recap: Brandon Bass Jr.'s Big Game Can't Quite Lead Windermere Prep over Sickles + How To Watch

After flying high against Pine Ridge on Wednesday, Windermere Prep came back down to earth. The Lakers took a 78-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sickles Gryphons on Saturday. The Lakers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gryphons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2019.

Windermere Prep's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Bass Jr., who dropped a double-double with 26 points and 12 boards. The contest was Bass Jr.'s 13th in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Adam Hindman, who shot 75% from the field to rack up 18 points and five rebounds.

Sickles was led to victory by Jackson Byam and Adrian Thomas. Byam went 10-for-16 en route to 25 points and four steals, while Thomas shot 55% from the field on his way to 20 points and five boards. Byam is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 16 every time he's taken the court this season. Bob Buccino was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Having lost for the first time this season, Windermere Prep fell to 6-1. As for Sickles, their victory was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-1.

Windermere Prep wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 66-62 win against Creekside on the 12th. As for Sickles, they have also already played their next matchup, a 71-55 victory against Leto on the 9th.
