Baseball Recap: Elkhorn Comes Up Short in High-Profile Matchup with Lincoln Northeast

Elkhorn faced Lincoln Northeast in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Antlers fell just short of the Rockets by a score of 3-1. The Antlers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Rockets apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2024.

Elkhorn got a good showing from Camden Gatling, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.

Elkhorn has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-5 record this season. As for Lincoln Northeast, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-1.
