Baseball Recap: Salem Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Salem's offense. They lost 6-0 to the Kellam Knights on Tuesday. The Sundevils haven't had much luck with the Knights recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Salem saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zachary Rigsby, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double. That double marked the first that Rigsby has hit this season.

Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Kellam, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Salem is set to square off against their familiar foe Kempsville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Kellam will challenge rival First Colonial at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Knights 4, the Patriots 1.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
