Preview: Lemmon Cowboys vs. Langford Lions
After two games on the road, Lemmon is heading back home. They will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Langford Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Lemmon pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 57-56 to Hebron-Glen Ullin, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Langford, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They were the victim of a rough 59-35 loss at the hands of Wilmot on Tuesday.
Langford's loss came about despite a quality game from Kalen Godel, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Godel scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Dylan Harmon, who scored six points along with 11 rebounds.
Lemmon's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Langford, their loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
Lemmon was able to grind out a solid win over Langford in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, winning 62-49. Does Lemmon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Langford turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
