Softball Recap: Yosemite Takes a Loss

Yosemite extended their losing streak to seven on Monday, dropping their season record down to 3-12 in the process. They came up short against the Riverdale Cowboys, falling 26-9. If the Badgers were looking for revenge after losing 12-10 to the Cowboys when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Cailey Orcutt was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Misa, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.

As for Riverdale, they moved to 11-8 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.

On Riverdale's side, Camila Cortes was a standout: she got on base in three of her five plate appearances with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs Cortes has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Mamie Cox, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Yosemite is set to square off against their familiar foe Parlier at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Riverdale will take on rival Chowchilla at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
