Beverly hadn't done well against Peabody Veterans Memorial recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Panthers put the hurt on the Tanners with a sharp 13-5 victory. Considering the Panthers have won three contests by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Beverly's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, they now have a losing record of 4-5.

Coming up, Beverly will head out to challenge Essex North Shore Agric & Tech School at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Peabody Veterans Memorial, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Danvers at 10:00 a.m.
