Grossmont - Valley recap Nov. 7, 2012
Mount Miguel extended the longest winning streak in Grossmont - Valley this week by beating El Capitan, 38-35. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Matadors.
Monte Vista took down El Cajon Valley 42-20 last week, the largest margin of any game.
Mount Miguel's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brad Moreno threw for 178 and one touchdown and Jovon Richardson had 80 yards receiving. On the ground Ben Lomibao chipped in 180 yards. Rashad Harper helped Mount Miguel's passing attack out by catching three balls for 44 yards.
Mount Miguel's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Matadors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Moreno has thrown for 1147 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Richardson has 29 catches for 512 yards. Tony Dozier leads the league in rushing with 1255 yards.
The Monarchs led the league in scoring this week after putting up 42 points on the Braves.
