Baseball Recap: Oldham County Takes a Loss

Saturday just wasn't the day for Oldham County's offense. They lost 7-0 to the Harrison County Thorobreds/Fillies on Saturday. The Colonels just can't catch a break and have now endured seven losses in a row.

Oldham County got a good showing from Ian Breeding, who pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits. Breeding also tossed no walks, which is notable because the Colonels are 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 7-13 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Oldham County saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mikey Gipson, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Oldham County's defeat dropped their record down to 10-14. As for Harrison County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 28-4 record this season.

Oldham County will face off against Owen County at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Colonels' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rebels have averaged an impressive 8 runs per game this season. As for Harrison County, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Paris at 5:30 p.m.
