Basketball Game Preview: Warren County Eagles vs. Northampton County Jaguars

Warren County hasn't had much luck against Northampton County recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Warren County Eagles will be playing at home against the Northampton County Jaguars at 7:30 p.m. Warren County is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.

Warren County will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Southeast Halifax, who they had gone 1-6 against in their seven prior meetings. Warren County came out on top against Southeast Halifax by a score of 49-39 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Eagles.

Warren County found their leader in sophomore Kamari Nicholson, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten boards, and 12 blocks. Nicholson has been hot for a while, having posted two or more blocks the last 11 times he's played. Another player making a difference was Khalil Townsend, who went 7 of 15 en route to 15 points along with seven rebounds and five steals.

Meanwhile, Northampton County won against Weldon on Friday with 70 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Saturday. Northampton County walked away with a 70-59 victory over Rocky Mount Prep. The win was familiar territory for Northampton County who have now won three matchups in a row.

Northampton County pushed their record up to 13-5 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for Warren County, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
