Baseball Game Preview: Cameron County Raiders vs. Otto-Eldred Terrors

Cameron County hasn't had much luck against Otto-Eldred recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Raiders will take on the Terrors at 4:30 p.m. Cameron County has given up an average of 8.6 runs per game this season, but Monday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Cameron County had taken Smethport down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Friday. The Raiders might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 14-7 to the Hubbers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bolivar-Richburg hit Otto-Eldred with a four-run sixth inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Terrors took a 7-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wolverines. The Terrors haven't had much luck with the Wolverines recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.

Landon Francis was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two RBI. He has become a key player for Otto-Eldred: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 4-5 otherwise.

Otto-Eldred's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Cameron County, their loss dropped their record down to 3-8.

Cameron County came out on top in a nail-biter against Otto-Eldred in their previous meeting on Wednesday, sneaking past 5-4. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
