Basketball Recap: New Knoxville Drops Highest Score of Season Against Upper Scioto Valley

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask New Knoxville). They blew past the Upper Scioto Valley Rams, posting a 66-39 victory. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Rangers with their most commanding win of the season.

Despite the defeat, Upper Scioto Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Layla Hunsicker went 5-for-12 en route to 13 points and six assists. The dominant performance gave Hunsicker a new career-high in assists. Another player making a difference was Chloe Cunningham, who posted nine points.

New Knoxville is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-17 record this season. As for Upper Scioto Valley, they dropped their record down to 8-15 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Coming up, New Knoxville will be taking part in a tournament against Hardin Northern at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hardin Northern will roll in looking for their eighth straight win, something New Knoxville surely won't give up without a fight. Upper Scioto Valley does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
