Soccer Game Preview: Eastern Montgomery vs. Auburn

The Eastern Montgomery Mustangs are taking a road trip to take on the Auburn Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Eastern Montgomery will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.

Eastern Montgomery's defense heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over Rural Retreat. That's two games straight that Eastern Montgomery have won by exactly eight goals.

Meanwhile, Auburn was able to grind out a solid win over Floyd County on Friday, taking the game 2-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Auburn.

Auburn's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 21 goals over those five contests. As for Eastern Montgomery, their victory bumped their record up to 4-1.

Eastern Montgomery came out on top in a nail-biter against Auburn in their previous matchup last Friday, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
