Basketball Recap: Marietta Comes Up Short

Marietta suffered their biggest loss since February 9, 2024 on Tuesday. They came up short against the North Paulding Wolfpack, falling 83-57. The Blue Devils have struggled against the Wolfpack recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Despite the defeat, Marietta saw an underclassman step up: freshman Leah DeWitt went 10 for 23 on her way to 29 points and three steals. DeWitt is crushing it when it comes to points: she's scored at least 15 every time she's taken the court this season. Kyann Senior was another key player, putting up 15 points along with eight boards and three steals.

Marietta's loss dropped their record down to 12-11. As for North Paulding, they pushed their record up to 21-1 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Etowah the next time they take the court. North Paulding will host Etowah at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Marietta will host them at 6:00 p.m. on February 4th.
