Baseball Recap: Deckerville Takes a Loss

Kingston hit Deckerville with a four-run first inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 6-5. The Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Cardinals earlier this season, when they won 6-3.

Evan Benjey made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Deckerville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-5-1. As for Kingston, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-10-1 record this season.

Deckerville will be playing in front of their home fans against Harbor Beach at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kingston, they will head out on the road to face off against Sandusky at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.9 runs per game this season.
