Colquitt County's loss ends four-game winning streak on the road

It was a good run, but the Colquitt County Packers unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Tuesday. They were the victim of a rough 74-49 loss at the hands of Lowndes. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Colquitt County has suffered yet this season.

Several Packers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jamya Moore, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Amira Walters- Smith, who scored 14 points along with three steals.

Lowndes' victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aryana Thomas, who scored 19 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Thomas continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kimora Wade was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.

Colquitt County's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-2. As for Lowndes, their win bumped their record up to 11-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Colquitt County will face off against Camden County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Camden County is ranked 34th, while Colquitt County is ranked 22nd). As for Lowndes, Lowndes and Richmond Hill will face off at 5:00 p.m. on January 19th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Richmond Hill will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
