Soccer Recap: Murphysboro Takes a Loss

Murphysboro entered their match against Columbia on Saturday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Red Devils lost 6-0 to the Eagles. Murphysboro were not able to make up for their loss to Columbia from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Murphysboro's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4-2. As for Columbia, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-5-1 record this season.

Murphysboro wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next matchup, a 1-1 draw against Massac County on the 30th. As for Columbia, they have also already played their next match, a 5-1 win against Highland on the 29th.
